Studio Rules, Liability Waiver & Booking Agreement

By booking a session at SELF Portrait Studio (“SELF,” “we,” “us”), you (“Client,” “you”) acknowledge and agree to the following Studio Rules, Liability Waiver, and Booking Terms. This agreement applies to the booking client and all members of their party, including guests, minors, and pets.

1. Private Studio & Self-Portrait Experience

SELF provides a private self-portrait studio where clients take their own photos using a remote shutter. Clients acknowledge that staff are not present inside the studio during the photo session. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

2. Guest Policy

  • Most sessions include two (2) guests, though guest count varies by session type.

  • It is the client’s responsibility to confirm how many guests are included with their specific booking.

  • Maximum studio capacity is ten (10) people total, including the booking client.

  • Additional guests beyond those included in your session require an additional fee.

  • If you arrive with more guests than paid for, additional guests must be paid for before gaining access to the studio.

  • Exceptions may apply as outlined on our website and FAQ.

The booking client assumes full responsibility for all guests and their compliance with studio rules.

3. Minors

  • Minors are permitted only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • The parent or legal guardian must be present in the studio for the entire session.

  • The booking client accepts this agreement on behalf of any minors and assumes full responsibility for their supervision, behavior, and compliance with studio rules.

4. Pet Policy

  • Pets are subject to approval and require a pet fee.

  • Pets must be:

    • Potty trained

    • Well-behaved

    • Restrained from accessing studio equipment at all times

  • Due to the presence of professional and expensive equipment, SELF reserves the right to refuse pets or end a session if a pet is disruptive, unsafe, or unsuitable for the space.

The booking client assumes full responsibility for all pets brought into the studio.

5. Studio Rules & Equipment Use

To protect our space and equipment:

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the studio.

  • Clients and guests may not touch any studio equipment, including but not limited to:

    • Cameras

    • Laptops

    • Computer monitors

    • Lighting or stands

  • The remote shutter is the only equipment clients are permitted to use.

  • If assistance is needed with equipment or studio items, clients must contact SELF staff.

Failure to follow these rules may result in immediate termination of the session without refund.

6. Equipment Damage & Financial Responsibility

Clients acknowledge that SELF uses professional, high-value photography equipment.

  • The booking client assumes full financial responsibility for any damage caused by themselves, their guests, minors, or pets.

  • This includes:

    • Full cost of repair or replacement

    • An administrative fee of up to $500 to cover downtime, labor, and business interruption

  • Damage charges may be billed to the card on file.

7. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • Sessions may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable.

  • Each booking includes one (1) complimentary reschedule, subject to availability.

8. Right to Refuse or End Service

SELF reserves the right to refuse service or end a session without refund due to:

  • Rule violations

  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

  • Failure to disclose accurate guest or pet information

  • Misuse of studio space or equipment

9. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

By booking, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with being in the studio environment, including but not limited to risks related to movement, equipment, props, or other studio conditions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless SELF Portrait Studio, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, injuries, damages, or losses arising from your session, including those involving guests, minors, or pets.

10. Acknowledgment of Studio Policies & FAQs

By booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to the Studio Rules, Liability Waiver, and Booking Terms, and that you have reviewed the SELF Portrait Studio FAQs, available at:

You acknowledge that the FAQs are incorporated into these terms and form part of this agreement.

11. Agreement & Electronic Acceptance

By completing your booking and selecting “I agree,” you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You are authorized to accept these terms on behalf of your entire party

  • This electronic acceptance is legally binding
